<p>Unsur adalah suatu zat tunggal yang paling sederhana yang tidak dapat diuraikan. Di alam ini terdapat kurang lebih 90 jenis unsur. Selain itu, terdapat juga unsur-unsur buatan manusia. <p>Senyawa adalah campuran dari beberapa unsur namun tidak terlihat lagi sifat-sifat bahan penyusunnya. Campuran terdiri dari beberapa Unsur atau lebih. Syarat penulisan lambang senyawa adalah lambang Unsur logam ditulis di awal diikuti oleh lambang Unsur bukan logam. Berikut ini adalah beberapa contoh rumus kimia sederhana.</p>

<p>Campuran adalah gabungan dari beberapa zat. Campuran terdiri atas Campuran Homogen dan Campuran Heterogen. Campuran Homogen adalah campuran yang semua zatnya tercampur secara merata. Contoh dari campuran homogen adalah sendok tahan karat (<em>stainless steel</em>), sirop, cuka, minuman berkarbonasi, udara, dll. Contoh dari campuran heterogen adalah campuran antara kapur dengan air, campuran pasir dengan air, campuran besi dengan air, campuran batu dengan air, dll.</p>

Terdiri dari dua bagian, bagian diam dan bagian bergerak. Pembacaan hasil pengukuran sangat bergantung pada keahlian dan ketelitian pengguna maupun alat. Sebagian keluaran terbaru sudah dilengkapi dengan bacaan digital. Pada versi analog, umumnya tingkat ketelitian adalah 0.05mm untuk jangka sorang dibawah 30cm dan 0.01 untuk yang diatas 30cm.</p>

<ul>
<li>untuk mengukur suatu benda dari sisi luar dengan cara diapit;</li>
<li>untuk mengukur sisi dalam suatu benda yang biasanya berupa lubang (pada pipa, maupun lainnya) dengan cara diulur;</li>
<li>untuk mengukur kedalamanan celah/lubang pada suatu benda dengan cara &#8220;menancapkan/menusukkan&#8221; bagian pengukur. Bagian pengukur tidak terlihat pada gambar karena berada di sisi pemegang.</li>

<p>Two quantities in our daily life are Physical quantities and Not Physical Quantities. Physical quantities are quantities that can be measured. For examples: length, width, high, mass, time, weight, etc. Not Physical quantities are quantities that can not be measured. For examples:  happy,  beautiful,  enjoy,  etc.</p>
<p>Kinds of physical quantities:</p>
<p>1. Fundamental Quantities, are quantities that get from measurement</p>
<p>a. Length</p>
<p>b. Mass</p>
<p>c. Time</p>
<p>d. Temperature</p>
<p>e. Electric Current</p>
<p>f.  Amount of Substance</p>
<p>g. Luminous Intencity</p>
<p>2. Derived Quantities, are quantities that get from fundamental quantities</p>
<p>Examples: Area, Volume, density, etc</p>
